A highly contested conversation: Which Landcruiser series is the one that trumps all?
In my mind, it’s clearly the 70 series.
The iconic 79 Landcruiser is the one we’ve elected to use for offroading tours, and we actually picked two brand new vehicles up last week to take with us on tour this week! (Stay tuned for more pictures)
There are a couple of reasons why we’ve opted for this car, here’s why:
- It was designed for Australia’s harsh conditions.
- The car was developed quite a while ago, so it has had time to “mature” like fine wine.
- The vehicle isn’t too tech-heavy – so the original design has mostly stayed the same.
- The vehicle has been tried and tested, making it quite a resilient option.
- Due to its maturity, every home garage can service it if needed.
- Despite the ruggedness and strength of the V8 engine, the car isn’t particularly fast, making it great for crawling up hills and not running out of steam.
- Whilst this vehicle is regarded as a farm truck to some, it is a commercial vehicle that can carry heavy loads without buckling or breaking down because of the stress.
I could definitely keep going, but I think I should call it there. What series do you think is the best?
