Recently, we decided to equip our off-roading fleet with not just one but two brand-new 70 series Landcruisers, which we’ve also opted to build out to better equip the vehicles with navigating harsh bush conditions and carrying heavier loads.
In off-roading and adventure, we often get asked, “Which Landcruiser series is the one that trumps all?” Well, in our experience, it’s unequivocally the 70 series. Let me tell you why.
A common misconception about these cars is that this is not a vehicle you take four-wheel driving over the weekend on one of your local beaches.
On the contrary, this is a touring vehicle that can carry a family of five with a daily water consumption of two weeks – which equates to over 100 litres! These vehicles can bear the weight of water, fuel, food and gear for long journeys.
This, paired with the fact that these cars are designed for the Australian outback, being stress-tested in this environment was one of its most attractive features.
It has a brilliant blend of technology and tradition, maintaining its original design while embracing modern advancements. The V8 engine is already built for strength, so building onto it should enhance its preexisting ability.
Have you ever driven one of these before? If not, let’s chat about curating your next adventure holiday.
